Derrick White Traded to Boston Celtics
Celtics Acquire Guard in Exchange for Richardson and Langford
Boston Bolsters Roster for Playoff Push
In a significant move at the trade deadline, the Boston Celtics have acquired guard Derrick White from the San Antonio Spurs. The Celtics sent guards Josh Richardson and Romeo Langford, as well as a top-four-protected 2022 first-round pick, to the Spurs in exchange for the 6'4" White.
White, a former first-round pick, is a versatile two-way player who brings much-needed depth to the Celtics' backcourt. He is known for his defensive prowess, particularly his ability to block shots and steal passes. Offensively, he is a capable scorer and playmaker.
The Celtics' acquisition of White is seen as a major boost to their playoff hopes. With White joining the likes of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart, the Celtics now boast one of the strongest backcourts in the NBA.
