Plane Wreckage with Three Dead Discovered in Italy
Days of Searching
After days of searching, wreckage from a small plane has been discovered in Italy, with the remains of three people on board.
The plane, a Cessna 172, disappeared on Thursday while flying from Lucca to Grosseto in Tuscany. A large-scale search operation was launched, involving aircraft, helicopters, and ground teams.
Tragic Discovery
The wreckage was finally located on Sunday in a mountainous area near the town of Castiglione di Garfagnana. The victims have been identified as the pilot, a 60-year-old man, and two passengers, a 50-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy.
Investigation Underway
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) has sent investigators to the site to collect evidence and interview witnesses.
The search and rescue operation was carried out by the Italian Air Force, the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (CNSAS), and the Fire Brigade.
The discovery of the wreckage and the remains of the victims brings closure to the families of the deceased and ends the days of uncertainty about their fate.
